Usages of Simple Present Tense

                                Simple Present Tense භාවිත වන අවස්ථා පිළිබඳව මෙහිදී අපි සාකච්චා කරමු.

1 ) The Simple Present Tense is often used to describe what we do  everyday(Habitual actions)                                                                  අප එදිනෙදා ජීවිතයේ පුරුද්දක් වශයෙන් කරන ක්‍රියා විස්තර කිරීමට සරළ වර්තමාන කාලය යොදා ගත හැක.  

1. Usually we do not work at night. (අපි සාමාන්‍යයෙන් රෑට වැඩ කරන්නෙ නෑ)  
2. A: What do you do? B: I work in a library. 
3. He shops at the big supermarket once a week. 
4. She never comes late to class.

2) The Simple Present Tense is used to express general truths such as scientific fact     

විද්‍යාත්මක කරුණු හෝ සදාතනික සත්‍යන් විස්තර කිරීමටද මෙම කාල භේදය යොදා ගනී.      

1. The earth moves around the sun. (හිරු වටා පෘථිවිය පරිභ්‍රමණය වේ.)
2. The sun rises in the east.
3. Water boils at 100 degree C.
4.  Cats eat rats.

3 ) The Simple Present Tense is used to express future events that is part of a fixed timetable or fixed programme.
අනාගතයේ ස්ථිරවම සිදුවීමට නියමිත ක්‍රියා විස්තර කිරීමට ද සරළ වර්තමාන කාලය යොදා ගත හැක.

1. The train leaves at 8.00p.m.                                                         (දුම්රිය රාත්‍රී 8 ට පිටත් වේ.)
2. Her mother retires in 2 years.
3. The match is on Tuesday.
